Tracker funds are extremely low charging investments set up to track the performance of a specific index, such as the FTSE 100. The fund charges are extremely low because there is no fund manager and research team picking suitable investments, the funds simply try to match the performance of the index. This type of fund is appropriate for the cost conscious investor who do not believe that fund managers add sufficient value to to their investments to justify their charges.
Heritage offer two tracker portfolios, one invested predominantly in the UK, the second invested predominantly in global equities. With each 100% invested in equities, these portfolios are not suitable for cautious investors.
The UK Tracker portfolio has 75% invested in the FTSE All Share Index. The remainder is invested in European, US and Pacific indicies. This portfolio is suitable for an investor with a medium to high risk profile and who is prepared to accept the risk in return for potentially greater rewards. We suggest planning to invest for a minimum period of at least 5 years or longer. Please be aware that fund and portfolio values will fluctuate throughout the investment period so, if you cannot accept any fall in the value of your portfolio from time to time, then this type of investment is not for you. Please be aware that there is a risk of this portfolio being worth less than you originally invested, particularly if you withdraw your money over the shorter term.

The Heritage Fixed Interest & UK Tracker Portfolio invests 80% into lower risk fixed interest investments with a 20% equity exposure to the companies that make up the FTSE 100. Because of the relatively low exposure to equities, this fund is suitable for investors with a moderate attitude to risk. We still suggest that any investment with an equity content is held for at least five years so, if you are intending to invest for a shorter term, then this investment is not for you. Please be aware that there is a risk of this portfolio being worth less than you originally invested, particularly if you withdraw your money over the shorter term.
